20/02/2014 Robertson Construction (Eastern) Ltd have decided to use SafeStand® Access Systems on one of their projects at the new Balmoral Business Park in Aberdeen. Work is now underway at the new Nissan and MINI showrooms that are being developed for the John Clark Motor Group, while construction of a new speculative-build office development is well advanced. The combined value of the projects is more than £9 million pounds.
The new Nissan dealership, designed to be a flagship European dealership for Nissan, will extend to 15,074 square feet and is designed from the outset to cater for electric vehicles, with a specialist service bay and Nissan Leaf recharging points. Meanwhile, the 8,070-square-feet MINI dealership will have a 12-car showroom, plus a separate enclosed hand-over bay and four workshop bays. The deal to build the car showrooms is worth £3.5m. In a separate project, work to complete the £5.8m speculative office development is progressing well, with work due to complete in September 2014.
“The site developers, Balmoral Group, have a vision to create a first-class business park in this excellent location, which we are confident will soon become a reality.”
Located three miles from the city centre, Balmoral Business Park has excellent links to the city’s main road network. Facing onto the main access road, the A956, the main road linking to Dundee, Edinburgh, and Glasgow, the A90, is one mile southwest of the site. Meanwhile, the planned Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route will also be easily accessible. Balmoral Business Park also enjoys a regular bus service into the city centre and is a ten-minute drive from Aberdeen harbour and the city’s bus and train stations.
