Kier build new home for the Cardiff Devils

01/02/2015 – Kier Construction have started works on the new 3,000-seat ice arena at Cardiff Bay’s International Sports Village for the new home of the Cardiff Devils.  Safestand® are proud to be a part of this first phase of a much larger £250m scheme, which includes a 250m snow indoor ski slope, built above a 1,300-space multi-storey car park and shopping centre to add to the already growing Cardiff Pointe area which also home to the Olympic White Water Rafting.

Further phases will also include a 32-storey landmark tower, luxury hotel and flats.  Construction is expected to last 16 months meaning the new arena will not open until after the 2014/15 ice hockey season.

Kier – Isle of Arran, Scotland

16.04.2014 SafeStand® Access Systems are being used by Kier Construction in the building of a new care home and resource centrre on the Isle of Arran, Scotland. North Ayrshire Council has awarded Kier Construction the £5.7m project to replace the existing Montrose House and Stronach day Services. Works started in 2013 with all works due to be complete for hand over in September 2014.

The care home will be built to a high quality specification that includes natural stone walling, en suite bathrooms and access from each bedroom to secure gardens that will have activity space, seating and shaded areas.

Safestand Used on Gower College, Swansea

07.02.2014  Safestand is being erected on Kier Constructions Gower College project in Swansea. Gower College plans to extend the college, utilising adjoining land to the north of the campus for further accommodation and associated traffic and infrastructure upgrades.  Safestand is proud to be a part of the Gower College project and continue its long standing history supplying Low Level Access Systems to the Kier Group throughout the country.

The Swansea and Gorseinon Colleges comprise 30 buildings ranging from the listed Victorian Sketty Hall to some recent 21st century construction on the Gorseinon campus, work is to planned for completion for 2015.
