SafeStand® at Faslane, Scotland

19/11/2014  Her Majesty’s Naval Base, Clyde (HMNB Clyde; also known as Faslane) is one of three operating bases in the United Kingdom for the Royal Navy (the others being HMNB Devonport and HMNB Portsmouth). It is the service’s headquarters in Scotland and is best known as the home of Britain’s nuclear weapons, in the form of nuclear submarines armed with Trident missiles.

HMNB Clyde lies on the eastern shore of Gare Loch in Argyll and Bute, to the north of the Firth of Clyde and 25 miles (40 km) west of Glasgow.

Carillion have  awarded The JB Brickwork Group a range of works during the construction of the £125million upgrade of accommodation facilities at Faslane naval base on the River Clyde. The accommodation, which will provide 1800 single hotel-style apartments, will be the best of its kind available in the UK for service personnel and the project also includes a private shopping mall, bar, gym, a 10-pin bowling alley and 300-seater cinema. JB Brickwork Ltd and Carillion have decided to use SafeStand® Access Systems for the build of internal blockwork walls on the contract. HMS Ambush
